How I Met My Honey

I stumbled onto this blog carnival at Ramblings by Reba and thought it looked fun. Now the story of how I met my honey.

My daughter (who was 15 at the time) convinced me to try some on-line dating services. I went out on one date with a guy from eHarmony and he was pretty much a nerd. I decided to sign up for Match.com and the night I posted my pictures I got two winks. The one guy wanted more pictures but Dave just wanted my phone number. We talked for about 4 hours on the phone on a Tuesday night. He lived in a city about 50 miles from me so we made a date at a Carraba's that was halfway between us. We met there and I can still remember him walking up to the restaurant in a nice pair of dress pants and a striped, long sleeved shirt. I think we fell in love the moment our eyes met. He had brought me a single rose. He told the hostess that we were on our first date and that we needed a special seat. He was so attentive and really listened to what I had to say. We talked about any and everything. After dinner he took my to one of his best friend's house (a lady) and we played a game of pool. Then we went to a club and danced and had a drink. He drove me back to my car at the restaurant and we kissed goodnight and talked some more.

I had a date for the following night with another guy but cancelled it and called Dave and had him come over. I was not feeling well so we went out and got some soup and hung out at my house and watched a movie. And we have been together ever since. It will be five wonderful years on July 22 and I could not ask for a better man to be with. He is still as attentive as he was the first night I met him. He listens (and hears) what I have to say, he wants to make me happy. He helps around the house, (yes, ladies he does dishes) and he is great with my kids. He loves my granddaughter almost as much as I do and I am more thankful every day that I took a chance. I love you Dave!
