Sunday Scrappin'

Sunday Scrappin' January 25, 2009

Can you believe the first month of the year is almost over. I swear the older I get the faster it goes.

My ta-da's this week:

Two digital scrapbook pages based on my Project 365 that is based on 365 Days. I am having a great time with the quotes and photo a day. It certainly is taking me outside my normal picture taking.

This digital layout is also based on the same 365 Days blog.

And two paper scrapbook pages. I haven't done a paper scrapbook page in months and it was so theraputic!
This week I don't have any big plans for crafting. I will try and keep up with my Project 365 and maybe do another couple of paper scrapbook pages. I have done 17 pages this month so I am down 8 for the month. I leave for Tucson in less than two weeks so I will be planning on packing and getting my eBay business set up for my vacation.

Last week's challenge: beat those winter blues by using the color BLUE as the main color in one of your projects. There was plenty of blue in my Sea World pages.

This week's challenge: A Sweet Treat. Maybe you'll make a treat box, maybe you'll scrap a favorite dessert recipe, or maybe you'll scrap a layout of your favorite sweet people.

Brr!

This is the display on my van at 7:45 a.m. Now, I live in Southwest Florida and we are not supposed to get temperatures like this. 35 degrees! Now that is cold to us! I even had to turn my heat on last night.

And we have frost on the windshield. Something we very seldom have to deal with.
But by the time I left to go to lunch at 1:45 p.m. it was near 70, sunny and warm.

Sunday Scrappin'

Sunday Scrappin' on Monday. I got some digital layouts done this week:

I am making weekly digital scrapbook pages of My 365 photo and quote challenge. I am a few days behind in posting but you can see what I am doing here.

I worked a bit on my Love Story album - getting pictures made and putting them in the album. I have a lot of journaling that I need to do for this album.
This week's challenge was to use stickers. I am working on planning some paper pages and have stickers out so I will complete this challenge this coming week.
Next week's challenge: beat those winter blues by using the color BLUE as the main color in one of your projects. Since I am working on Sea World pages I will be using lots of blue!

Brent's Birthday

We celebrated Brent's birthday today (his birthday is tomorrow but he will be going back to his dad's tomorrow after school so we celebrated a day early). Dave, Brandon and I took Brent to McDonald's for lunch (his choice), he is big into Big Mac's and milkshakes so that is what he had.
I really liked this picture of Brent and I.
Brent got two pairs of shorts, a pair of pants, a shirt, socks and an X-Box 360 game Call of Duty World of War.
And he picked out a football birthday cake, appropriate for this time of the year.

Sunday Scrappin'

Sunday Scrappin' January 11, 2009

My ta-da's this week include an acrylic album show here on a slide show:

I also did one digital layout this week that can be found here. I have been keeping up with My 365. I have enjoyed the quotes and the journaling but I am having trouble keeping up with the pictures. I take plenty of pictures but not on a daily basis. You can check out mMy 365 blog here.

I also got some pictures print for My Love Story album that was on my to-do list last week. And I worked on cleaning off my desk in my craft room. I just shoved things in boxes but at least I have room to work.

My to-do's this week include:

  1. Some digital scrapbooking
  2. Work on my Love Story album
  3. Try some knitting
  4. Work on my holiday tissue box
  5. Get a bead project started

Last week's challenge was something new. Try a new technique...use a new supply...whatever you'd like, but do something that's new for your. This week I made the acrylic album and I have never made an acrylic album. It was a ton of fun and I am sure I will do another acrylic album.

Next week's challenge is quick and easy-- use stickers. This should be really easy since I have lots of stickers!

Happy Sunday and Happy Scrappin'!

More Cutie Patootie Pictures

Bailey spent the night last night and we had her most of the day today. She is so funny, she walks around and around, stopping to say hi to anyone in the living room. Then she goes into the kitchen and back around again. I would be tired after walking as far as she walks.
Here she is stopping to pick up a toy during one of her walks - notice her purse.

And here we have a picture of her curls. Her Mommy had the same curly, wispy bit of hair that Bailey has. Nicole has gorgeous long curly dark brown hair today so I am sure Bailey will have plenty of hair some day.

And here she is stopping to chat with Grandma. Again, notice her purse on her arm. She carries it all around the house with her. Funny girl, we love you!

My Bailey Boo

What a cutie patootie. I felt like Dave and I needed a Bailey fix tonight so I picked her up at her Mommy's and brought her home with me after work. She talked the whole way home. When we got home the first thing she went for was my little purse and put it on her arm. Then I put Brent's red Dodge hat on her and she played with it - she would put it over her eyes and start walking. It was funny to watch her and she looked so cute. She turned the hat backwards gangster style and then to the side. We had macaroni and cheese for dinner, danced together and the tickle monster visited. Her Mommy is coming over soon to get her.

Something I found funny

I was heading home from work this afternoon and saw something I found very funny. On the back window of the truck in front of me was a large Pillsbury Dough Boy and hanging from the hitch were two balls in a blue ballon type thing. What kind of person drives a truck with a Pillsbury Dough Boy on the back window and hang blue balls from the hitch? I didn't speed up to find out!

Sunday Scrappin'

Sunday Scrappin' January 4, 2009

I looked over my to-do list from last week and I got a few things checked off. My ta-da's this week include:

1. Some digital scrapbooking.

2. I found some pictures that I want to scan and copy for my Love Album.

3. I made up some more card kits from Close to My Heart, three are shown below and another here.

4. I also decided what challenges I am going to do this year. I am doing two, I am doing a photo a day challenge and also the challenges posted here. This was for last year but I am going to do it this year. I have started another blog just for these two challenges and you can find it here.
5. I purchased some yarn to try something with my new knitting needles.
My to-do's this week include:
  1. Continue working on my digital scrapbooking.
  2. Work on my acrylic album.
  3. Work on my Love Story album (both photos and journaling).
  4. Clean off the desk in my craft room.
  5. Try some knitting.
  6. Work on my holiday tissue holder.
Last week's challenge was to use something from our stash. Everything I made this week was from my stash with the exception of the card kit with the birds with the long legs.

This week's challenge: something new. Try a new technique... use a new supply... whatever you'd like, but do something that's new for you.
Happy Sunday and Happy Sunday Scrappin'!

Retail Therapy

Today was a very laid back day. I didn't sleep well at all last night so didn't drag my butt out of bed until 9:30, then took a nap at noon and am sleepy now. I did some laundry, worked on a small acrylic album and then around three Brent and I went into town. We went to JoAnne's and I got some embellishments for my acrylic album and some yarn to try my new knitting needles out on. We stopped at Chick-fil-a and had an early dinner. Brent and Dave will be watching football and I will go upstairs, work on my album and watch some of season 2 Ugly Betty. I still need to take my picture for today but I still have some time.

Pictures and Stuff

Here is yesterday's photo:
This is a photo of wallpaper border that Dave and I finished putting up yesterday. Way cool. We took down the curtains to wash them and we vacuumed and dusted under all the furniture. We were both sneezing from the dust. I put the new fuzzy comforter that my Mom and Dad got us for Christmas on the bed and while I was putting the old comforter in the closet I found another Christmas gift for my Mom. I called her and told her and she is looking forward to getting another present.
We saw Jay Leno on the 30th. He was really funny and it was a nice night out. We didn't get home until a bit after one so I was really tired at work on Wednesday It was nice that I only had to work until noon.
I didn't get the Christmas decorations down yesterday but plan to work on those today. Another thing I want to try this year is to be creative every day. Last night I did two digital scrapbook pages that I will share later. I plan to spend some time today in my craft room. I started working on a Close to My Heart kit that includes a stamp set and all the pieces for a set of cards. I also have a box of new stamps and paper that I ordered from Close to My Heart that I am excited to work with.
