Weigh In Day and Reconnecting

Well, today was weigh in day and I am a much happier camper today than the past two weeks. I lost 1.4 pound for a total of 14! Yeah!

After weigh in I got to spend a great hour and a half with my buddy Susan. We haven't seen each other in ages so we had lots to catch up on. We have some crazy memories! And we have promised each other we will get together more often.
Then to make a great day even better I got to spend the afternoon with Brandon and Bailey. I had Brandon take some pictures but they all turned out blurry. I gave Boo Bear a bath, she sat on the potty, we had a snack, read a book, played with the toys and watched some tv. A fun afternoon.

Beautiful Evidence Page 7

Are you tired of the pages from Jessica Sprague's Beautiful Evidence album class I am working on? Me neither! We have started Chapter 2 and it is about us!
I am meeting an old friend that I haven't seen in forever for breakfast this morning. I am so looking forward to catching up. I am looking at the calendar and today is the last day of August. It amazes me how fast time flies. I'll be back later with pictures from our breakfast, a weigh in and my menu plan for this week. Have a great Monday!

I plan to spend the afternoon cleaning the house and working on school work. I might even sneak in some scrapbooking. Have a great Sunday!

Here are two pages from My 365 Project.

And my August layout for A Snapshot of My Life challenge blog.
My to do's this week include:

  2. Stay current on my Beautiful Evidence class.
  3. Do some scrapbooking. I started classes last week so if I get this accomplished I will be happy.

Here is my layout for Day 5 of Jessica Sprague's Beautiful Evidence class. I so love to take these classes with her that have a daily assignment. It makes me do some scrapbooking every day no matter how busy I am. This layout shows off some of my beautiful blue knick knacks sitting around my house.

It didn't take long to get caught back up with my Beautiful Evidence album from Jessica Sprague. Here is page 3 which is a page about the things I create.

Beautiful Evidence Page 2

I am already a day behind on the Beautiful Evidence class I am taking at Jessica Sprague. This time it is not my fault. My two week old Dell laptop decided to crash on me yesterday morning while I was in the middle of my Day 2 layout. I was fortunate that Staples was great and I was able to exchange the computer no questions asked.

This is Page 2 of my Beautiful Evidence album. These are my favorites:
Smell - fresh clean linens
Sight - My boys getting along
Taste - My one cup of French Vanilla coffee each and every morning
Sound - Bailey's laughter
Feel - clean sheet and my comfy quilt
Our Midweek Exploration was to take the VIA Survey of Character Strengths. Here are the top five results of my test.

Your Top Strength
Caution, prudence, and discretion
You are a careful person, and your choices are consistently prudent ones. You do not say or do things that you might later regret.
Your Second Strength
Love of learning
You love learning new things, whether in a class or on your own. You have always loved school, reading, and museums-anywhere and everywhere there is an opportunity to learn.
Your Third Strength
Gratitude
You are aware of the good things that happen to you, and you never take them for granted. Your friends and family members know that you are a grateful person because you always take the time to express your thanks.
Your Fourth Strength
Capacity to love and be loved
You value close relations with others, in particular those in which sharing and caring are reciprocated. The people to whom you feel most close are the same people who feel most close to you.
Your Fifth Strength
Judgment, critical thinking, and open-mindedness
Thinking things through and examining them from all sides are important aspects of who you are. You do not jump to conclusions, and you rely only on solid evidence to make your decisions. You are able to change your mind.

I was really surprised that Creativity, ingenuity, and originality was #8. There are 24 traits and I think most of my tops ones fit me to a tee. You can take the test at Authentic Happiness.

I have Statistics tonight. Wish me luck, this is one class that I withdrew front years ago because I just couldn't keep up.

Weigh In Day and New Recipes

Yesterday was weigh in day at Weight Watchers and I lost .2 pounds. Not as much as I had hoped for but at least it's a loss. With my Mom being here we have eaten out more and I even had McDonald's once this week. So, I am back on track, walking a couple of times a week and ready to see the scale move down next Monday.

Last night I was wanting to fix Snook for dinner. I found a recipe on line at Weight Watchers called Cajun fish. Basically you coat the fish with flour and cajun spice mixed together and fry it in a bit of olive oil. It was fabulous! I also boiled cubed potatoes, drained them, and then poured low fat Italian dressing on them. Yum! And I baked some acorn squash with a bit of butter and brown sugar. The meal was awesome. Brent ate three pieces of the fish so I call this recipe a huge hit!

After dinner my Mom and I went to Vineyards Park and walked around the lake four times. It takes about 45 minutes to walk around it four times. I am hoping to walk again tonight if my class gets out in time.

First Day of School

I hope Brent has a better day than he had a morning. He was grumpy with a capital G! Not sure why - he has to walk to school and doesn't like that so that might be it. He also didn't get the classes that he thought he was going to get so I will have to talk to someone in the office when he gets home this afternoon.
My Mom is still visiting and we are heading out this morning to go to Weight Watchers and then to shop at some thrift stores.

I am taking Jessica Sprague's Beautiful Evidence class. In this class we will be making a 20 pages album about the beautiful evidence of our life. Here is my completed title page.
I have been working on gathering the pictures and doing some journaling to include in this album. It will be a nice reminder of this time in our lives.

Sunday Scrappin'

It has been a busy week. I have started working my eBay business again. School starts tomorrow so we had a trip to the mall this week. And I tried to get a head start on my college classes that start Tuesday. My Mom is visiting until Tuesday and well, it has just be a busier than normal week. With that being said I only did one digi scrapbook page this week. It is a prompt from 365 Days.

My other accomplishment for the week is getting caught up, once again, on My 365 Project blog.

My to-do's this week included:
  1. Scrapbook - anything!
  2. Finish my craft desk organization.
  3. Work on the new Jessica Sprague class I am taking - Beautiful Evidence. I am super excited about this class and have been looking forward to it since I signed up for it.
I didn't get any school related pages done so I have nothing to share for the challenge last week. This week the challenge is

Answered Prayer

I am a firm believer in the power of prayer and I believe that our prayers are always answered. Many times the answer is not the answer we wanted but I believe all prayer is answered in some way. Then sometimes, prayer is answered so big and loud that you can't help know how very loving and kind our Lord is.

I have had a moderately successful eBay business for years. Of course, like any business, the more I work it the more successful it is. Lately I have been slacking in the listing end of eBay. I spent about 6 hours this week working on listing and I wasn't overly excited about doing it. I sent up a little prayer one night before going to bed - something like ok, Lord, should I continue with my eBay business, should I close it down and donate my junk, what should I do? I woke up the next morning, checked my eBay email account and I had an order for over $600.00! Now I consider that answered prayer big and loud! And the lady paid me this morning so the money is in my Paypal account and I am singing praises! And needless to say I am going to continue to dedicate a certain number of hours each week to my eBay business. God is good!

A Fun Evening

I know it's been awhile since I had Bailey pictures on my blog but she's baacck! Nicole called and needed help filling out the financial aid for college. She and Bailey came over yesterday evening and I got started working on the application on-line. Bailey was not happy with Grandma working and not paying attention to her so we put the application on hold and spend time with Boo. My Mom and sister came down and got a big surprise to find Bailey and Nicole at the house. After some catching up and big laughs we took Brent to his end of summer party and then went to LaBamba for dinner. (LaBamba is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants)

College

I was checking my grade for my Accounting class and my status has been upgraded from a freshman to a sophomore. I have been a freshman in college for 29 years! Sad! I hope I am not a sophomore that long.

Sunday Scrappin'

Hope you are having a great Sunday. Brent and I are going to church this morning then to lunch with Brandon. I invited Nicole but didn't hear back from her. After lunch we are heading to the dreaded mall. I cannot remember when I have been at the mall. Brent is going to get some back to school clothes. He knows what he wants and where he wants to get it so hopefully it won't take all day.

My ta-da's this week are all digi scrapping. The first two are layouts from prompts from 365 Days.

The next six pages (3-two page layouts) are all from My 365 Project.

I also worked a bit on organizing my craft/office space. I start back to school on the 25th so want to get it in working order by then. I am taking three classes - one a regular in class class, one a full on-line class and one a mix. I want a nice, neat space to be able to do my computer work as well as my paper work. So finishing my space is on my to-do list this week.

Along with finishing my space I have the following on my to-do list this week.

  1. Update My 365 Project blog. I am behind just a few days. Again, I have the pictures taken just need to download them and journal.
  2. Continue scrapbooking. As long as I am getting pages done I am happy.
  3. Finish work on my Brushabilities class from Jessica Sprague. As always I enjoyed her class and learned a ton. Her newest class is Beautiful Evidence which I am also taking starts the 24th. I already have the handout so I can get started taking pictures for this class. I am super excited about this class.
  4. I had this on my list last week and didn't do a thing with my eBay stuff. I am going to work on a daily (hour by hour) calendar and start scheduling time to list stuff. Otherwise I am going to drown in clutter or be found crushed by boxes.
Last week's challenge was to make a bookmark. I have made many bookmarks in the past but I didn't get a new one made. This week's challenge is to make a school related scrapbook page. I think I can probably handle this challenge.
