Made a Large Rug and Brent's Bedroom Clean Up

Brent got two cool, fluffy, red rugs for Christmas. They are bathroom rugs but they will work just fine in his bedroom but they were too small (they were different sizes). So, off to Target Boo and I went and bought three more rugs in the smaller size, come home and taped them together.
And voila, a nice large rug for in front of his bed. He hasn't seen it yet but I think he will like it.
I have been working for three days on getting his bedroom straightened up. Not all day mind you but too long. I finally finished today. Dave has an awesome collection of M & M memorabilia and we used it to decorate Brent's room. Here is a view from his door looking at his closet. I need to get a shade for the table lamp.
Here is a view of his bed without the comforter. Miss Bailey found a Sharpie marker and went to town on his comforter so I am working to get that mess taken care of. The yellow M & M on the wall is made from plastic canvas.
Next up is his built in bookcase and desk which house most of the M & M stuff.

This is the door going out into the hallway and the bookcase that we just put in Brent's room. It houses his tv, dvd player, alarm clock and more M & M stuff.
And this is the last picture showing the bookcase, door to the bathroom and closet again.
I love the way his room came out and I hope he likes it too. He won't be back until Monday afternoon so I just have to keep Bailey out of there so it stays nice.

Sunday Scrappin'

I am a day late with my Sunday Scrappin' post but I was celebrating Christmas with my family yesterday. Here are my previous posts with crafting included - post 1, post 2, post 3, post 4, post 5. I have finished the challenges at A Snapshot of My Life and am working on a daily December album based on Jessica Sprague's Holidays in Hand class. I also made a bunch of Safety Pin Bracelets.

Safety Pin Bracelets

A few weeks ago one of our good customers came in the store and had the coolest bracelet on - it was made with safety pins and beads. After finding out how easy they were to make I decided that I would make a bunch for Christmas presents. I ordered both silver and gold safety pins on line and got a batch of defective safety pins so had to send those back. I bought all the safety pins at JoAnne's and raided my stash of beads. These bracelets are so much fun to make and everyone seems to like them. I have made 15 of them and have plans for many more. I may put them in my Etsy store. Here is a slide show with some of the different bracelets I made. I kept the black and white one for myself. I have a couple more finished that I have photographed but will share them soon.

Holidays in Hand

I have been taking pictures and journaling throughout the month of December and thought it might be a good idea to put them together and work on my Holidays in Hand album. I am loving the way the album is turning out and hope to have it completed before I go back to the store.

Two Catch Up Layouts

Since moving I have fallen behind on my challenges and My 365 blog. I am attempting to get caught up before the first of the year and here are two of the last three layouts for A Snapshot of My Life 2009. I have the photos ready for December and will probably work on it later today.

A Busy Day!

I spent Tuesday cleaning the house so had decided that since Boo was here, Wednesday would be a fun day. We left the house and had a few non fun errands to run - take a book back to the library, pick up a prescription, mail packages, etc. Then we went to Dunkin' Doughnuts. Yummy Christmas doughtnuts and peppermint mocha latte. YUM!
Then we headed north to Estero and Bass Pro Shop - we have been talking to Bailey for a week now about sitting on Santa's lap but she wasn't having it. She went and talked to him but wouldn't sit on his lap. They took their one picture and lucky me, I am in it. If I can figure out how to use my scanner I may post it later. Here she is coloring her Santa picture and Brent is writing a letter to Santa for Bailey.

We can home and Bailey and Grandma took a nap then we got up and went to the 4:00 showing of the new Alvin and the Chipmunks. What a cute movie and Bailey laughed and danced the whole time. We stopped at Goodwill, had dinner at Cracker Barrel and then finished our day with shopping at Wal-Mart.
We had a great day! Brent, as usual, was very helpful with Bailey.

Today I am going to start laundry, possibly clean both bathrooms and bake some cookies with Brent's help. Oh, and I have presents to wrap. I am making Chicken Chili for dinner tonight - Yum!

Less than a Week Away

It is hard to believe this is the last weekend before Christmas. Most of my shopping is done but none of the wrapping. Brent comes home Monday so I would like to get the presents wrapped before he gets home. My house needs a good once over. I still have a few boxes that need to be emptied or stored away and that needs to be done too. Today is my last day at the thrift store until after the holidays. Hopefully when I go back the house will be in good shape and my mental state will be as well.

I have been working on a crafty gift which I can't share in case the recipients read my blog. I placed an order online for the main part of the craft and they arrived and are crap! I have to send them back and order more. Very disappointed since I can't get enough locally to finish. The second order is coming from Miami so they may be here in enough time. I don't need a few of the gifts until the Sunday after Christmas so I may spend next Saturday crafting.

I have been pondering the start of a new year and all that brings. A fresh outlook, a new set of resolutions and hopefully a better year than the last.

Final Grades

Two A's, one B. I am happy with that. And I got an A in Statistics. Yeah, I was stunned too! Got an A on the freaking final!

I am taking four classes in the Spring and since Fall is over I am once again excited about school. Here's to no classes for a month, some relaxing, some fun and some box emptying!

Sunday Scrappin'

I am excited! I have layouts to share for Sunday Scrappin'. If you are a scrapbooker, you may have heard about December Daily. If not, you can read about it here on Ali Edward's blog. I took a class at Jessica Sprague called Holidays in Hand and I have tried to incorporate both ideas into one. My main focus is on enjoying the holiday season - stopping and having fun with the decorating, cooking, shopping, etc. Just having a different mind set make everything more enjoyable. Here are my first five layouts for my December Daily album - all digital.

November 27th was tree decorating day and I used two pages for that day. I absolutely love my "designer" blue and silver Christmas tree.
Family night with a good movie. You may see more pages like this since Brent and I really enjoy watching movies together.
We are not done with the outdoor decorating - we plan to finish that today so you may see another page when it is done. I want to take pictures when it is dark and the lights are on.
Gotta love spray paint. Although much more careful since Dave's accident. On a side note, he is healing nicely - all the bandages are off and he is peeling. He was very, very lucky it wasn't worse than it was.

Have a great first weekend of December!
