A Sad Day

Today is a very sad day. Today is Bailey Boo's 2nd birthday and I am not able to be with her to celebrate. I texted her mom this morning and sent birthday wishes and love and I mailed a package to her. I hope she doesn't forget her Grandma. Bailey Boo I love you and I miss you!

Weigh In Day and A Gift

Today was weigh in day at Weight Watchers and I lost another 3.2 pounds, down 8.6 total. I am happy about that!

Yesterday I did some work on Photoshop on some pictures of Bailey with various family members, sent them to Walgreen's and put them in this cool Who Loves Baby? album. It brought tears to my eyes to work on this project but I am hoping Bailey will love it. I am putting together a box to send her for her birthday on Friday.

Sunday Scrappin'

Happy Sunday morning! It's time once again for Sunday Scrappin'. It's been a better week, paper crafting wise and I have lots to show you today. I didn't do all of these layouts this week. A number of them are paper pages and I just took the pictures to post.

I start a Wellness Journey book. Here is the cover,
page 1,
and page 2.
I took a class over at Big Picture Scrapbooking called the Challenge of Me. The first challenge was the size of the pages you were to do. I was to do 8" x 8" pages so that in itself posed the first challenge. I was debating purchasing an album and then in a box of donated stuff at the store I found this album. An 8" x 8" green diamond pattern album. Here is the decorated cover.
This is the cover page.
There are dividers to make. This is the first divider of My Life.
A two page layout on what makes us feel fulfilled.
A two page layout on someone who changed our lives.
And a two page layout on our own health. Now, the class is over and there are 28 challenges so I am way behind but am working on the journaling on the computer and maybe I'll get a few more pages done this week?
I am taking a class at Debbie Hodges' Get it Scrapped called Still More Mad Digital Skillz. Learned how to make the window glass and reflection. Very cool.
This is June's layout from A Snapshot of My Life.
Two more pages from the Still More Mad Digital Skillz. This lesson we learned how to use a displacement map to create this cool title.

And the third class in Still More Mad Digital Skillz was on creating a piece of notebook paper and tape. Cute!
Two more pages from my Wellness Journal.

Two pages from My 365 project. I am a couple of weeks behind on layouts but finally got all caught up on posting layouts and journaling.

This week I would like to continue working on the classes that I have fallen behind on and get caught up on My 365 layouts.

Hope you had a great week. We are celebrating three birthdays this coming week. Bailey will be 2 on July 31, as well as my best friend (and boss) Valori. It will be sad not seeing Bailey to celebrate her second birthday but I am working on a cute scrapbook item to send to her. My Mom's birthday is August 4th. She and my Dad are coming for dinner next Sunday and I am looking forward to a family get together.

Yeah!

Well, yesterday was the big day. I went back to the doctor's after being on five different medications for a month to see how they were helping my high blood pressure and my cholesterol. Good news all around! I have lost 5.4 pounds, my blood pressure went from 154/101 to 111/69 and my total cholesterol went from 440 to 160. Now the only thing I need to work on is my blood sugar which is 104 and needs to be down below 99. Less sugar, more activity. Ugh! The doctor also modified my meds and there is only one that I will be taking twice a day instead of three. Here's to good health and long life.

Sunday Scrappin'

Happy Sunday! I was out of town last week and didn't participate in Sunday Scrappin'. My life has been a bit of a downer lately and I haven't really had too much ambition to do much other than work, read and sleep.

Due to a tremendously stressful situation I haven't seen Bailey or Nicole in over two weeks. It is killing me to not see Bailey but not having the day to day stress of Nicole's daily drama is much better for my health. Then to top it all off Brandon decided to move out without telling me until it was done. He moved while I was at the store and took many things that he shouldn't have and left us with his two fish tanks to take care of. And my 93 year old grandmother fell and broke her ankle in two places. Too many things to occupy my mind.

On a happier note, I just completed the Photo Editing class at JessicaSprague.com. This has been an awesome class and you can see the other photos I edited in earlier posts. Here is the last photo in the class. She is offering two new classes that start in August that I am going to take.
Other than the photo editing class I really haven't done much scrapbooking. I am working on a couple of on-line classes but don't have anything finished with them.

My to-do's this week:
  1. Catch up My 365 blog with both photos and layouts.
  2. Get the printed materials from my on-line classes organized and work on something!
  3. Make new pages for my wellness journey.

I guess doing the photo editing class counted for Amy's challenge last week of trying something new. This week's challenge is to do a vacation scrapbook page. Join us for Sunday Scrappin'!

Photo Editing Class 12

The Photo Editing class over at JessicaSprague.com is coming to an end and I am very sad. I have enjoyed waking up each morning with something new to learn. Today's class is about making a storyboard. I love this look and it gives me ideas on making prints that could be framed as gifts.

Gammy

This is my Grandmother (we call her Gammy) and me in her kitchen last October. She and I are very close. I was the first grandchild and I was born on her birthday. My Mom called last night and told me Gammy fell and broke her ankle in two places. Please keep Gammy in your thoughts and prayers.

Photo Editing Class 5

Oh my gosh! I am loving this technique. This is from Jessica Sprague's Photo Editing class. We used three textures on this photo and then added a frame. Isn't is fabulous? and it took like 5 minutes to make. I think I will do something like this to make a photo to be framed.

This is day 3 of Jessica Sprague's Photo Editing class. I loved the way this photo turned out - with the color desaturated and tinted. I can see doing a lot with this technique.
