First Week at Home

Ok, so it's been awhile since I have been home full time and it takes some getting used to. I got quite a bit accomplished this week but not nearly as much as I anticipated. Monday was the last day of spring break so I dropped Brent off at the beach with friends which equaled almost two hours of driving time - there and back and there and back! But he had a good time and that is what is important.

Tuesday I had a doctors appointment. And I had to wait forever! My appointment was at 9 and I didn't get out of there until 10:30. My doctor is in Bonita and there are all sorts of thrift stores in Bonita. I went to five - the big Goodwill, three church thrift stores and the children's ranch store. The children's ranch store is upscale and has lots of furniture but I always find some knick knack that I love. Tuesday I found these:
Apothecary jar number one filled with shells. For $4.50! I won't leave the shells in there but I love the jar.
And apothecary jar number two - larger, cool shape and filled with I am not sure. Was marked down from $25.00 to $9.00. What a deal! My apothecary jar collection is coming along quite well.

So, after my thrift store shopping expedition the rest of the day was basically a wash. Oh, and my doctor told me no sugar, limit butter, cheese, salad dressing, mayo and shrimp. And I need to walk every day. I don't think I like my doctor anymore!

Wednesday and Thursday I spent cleaning and doing some prep work for eBay. I did get a few things listed on Turbo Lister yesterday so think I am up and running. Just need to keep is going.

I made a Google calendar of all my school work left to finish and the date is it due. The semester ends in early May so it is getting down to the wire and I have lots of writing to do. Three 250 word essays, one 500 word essay and one 1500 word essay - all for one class. Seeing is on paper makes is more manageable.

Rest and Recuperation

Tuesday I worked a longer day than normal 10-6 and yesterday I worked 10-4. Add to that taking care of an adorable 2 1/2 year makes for a tired and grumpy Nana. Neither Bailey nor I got our naps on Tuesday so last night after stopping at the gas station (two freaking eighty a gallon! WTF!) and making a deposit at the bank we hit Nana's big bed for a nap. I slept two hours and Bailey slept 2 1/2 hours and we both went to bed at regular time. I guess surgery really takes it out of you!

Today, it's off to work and then Managerial Accounting tonight. Might sneak a 30 minute power nap in if I'm lucky.

The First Day of December

I can hardly believe that December is here already. I have three more classes - two this week and one next. Two in class tests, one on line test and our big project in Statistics. I have an Accounting test tonight which I have studied for and will study for more today. I need to do well on this test.

I am all decorated inside for Christmas. And most of the outside is done. We want to put up some lights and that will probably get done this week.

I have two big projects for the month of December - one is to get my storage unit emptied. Dave just left to take a load over to his warehouse. This project needs to be done by December 12th so I don't have to pay another month's storage fee. The other project is my office/craft area. I want to get it straightened and organized. I have about three times more stuff than will fit in that area so I need to be ruthless when it comes to getting rid of stuff that I know I will never use.

I have been working on my Holidays in Hand project but haven't posted anything yet. I have a couple of pictures on my camera that I need to download and add to one page but my camera cord has gone missing once again. Drives me crazy since I am not sure if Brent borrowed it or if I misplaced it.

Hats off to good neighbors. Our neighbor, who is also named Dave, mowed our lawn yesterday since Dave has his arm bandaged. How awesome is that? Thanks Dave!

First Day of School

I hope Brent has a better day than he had a morning. He was grumpy with a capital G! Not sure why - he has to walk to school and doesn't like that so that might be it. He also didn't get the classes that he thought he was going to get so I will have to talk to someone in the office when he gets home this afternoon.
My Mom is still visiting and we are heading out this morning to go to Weight Watchers and then to shop at some thrift stores.

College

I was checking my grade for my Accounting class and my status has been upgraded from a freshman to a sophomore. I have been a freshman in college for 29 years! Sad! I hope I am not a sophomore that long.
