Saturday 9: The Lazy Days of Summer August 2, 2008

1. What is your favorite summer drink? Iced tea with sweet and low
2. What is the best summer sport to play? I don't play sports
3. What’s the best summer sport to watch? baseball
4. Do you like the ocean, the pool or the lake? the pool
5. Some folks drink whiskey in the winter and gin, tequila (margaritas) or rum drinks in the summer. Does you alcohol of choice change? I don't drink much alcohol so there is no change.
6. What is your favorite summer song? any of Kenny Chesney's beach songs.
7. What was your best summer growing up? How old were you and why was it best? I don't remember the exact year but my grandparents would take my cousin and me to rallies in their motor home and I remember that being lots of fun. Spending time with my grandparents and my cousin, eating out, getting involved with all the activities at the parks we went to, swimming and having fun.
8. Have you ever had a summer romance that you knew would end? I went to Mexico one summer with my family and had a romance with a Mexican boy that I knew would end when we left Mexico. I was probably 14.
9. How old were you when you first went skinny-dipping? Who were you with? I don't remember but I was probably with my ex-husband and I would have been in my mid-20's.

Saturday 9: We Travel Well July 26, 2008
1. What part of the world and country do you live in? I live in sunny Southwest Florida in the US, Naples, Florida to be exact.
2. What is the furthest from home that you have been, and where is it? I think the further is Seal Beach, California.
3. What travel destination have you enjoyed the most? I always enjoying visiting by best bud Wendy in Tucson, AZ.
4. What travel destination have you enjoyed the least? Not the destination but the trip, I don't particularly like cruises. The whole time I feel off center and slightly sick, so I won't be cruising again.
5. Is there somewhere you’d like to visit but have not, and where is it? There are quite a few places that I would love to visit - Washington DC, Nashville, TN and the coast of California.
6. Do you prefer traveling to see historic places or to hit the beach and relax? I am not a beach person so I guess my answer is historic places, but I do like to relax on vacation.
7. What popular vacation destination have you never considered because you think you’d not like it? Anything out of the country. For some unknown reason I have a fear of traveling outside of our country.
8. Where do you travel to most recently? We took a weekend trip to Ft Lauderdale and had an overnight stay at Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, FL.
9. Do you like day trip “mini-vacations”? What fun!

Saturday 9: At the Beach
1. Do you plan to be at the beach this summer? No. I live in Southwest Florida about 15 miles from the beach. With the temperatures being mid-90's and the humidity I do not go to the beach. I also am very pale and don't tan so I have no desire to be at the beach.
2. Do you have a favorite beach? If I had to pick a favorite it would be Loudermilk Park in Naples, FL
3. How old were you on your first beach trip? I have lived in Naples since I was 8 but my family vacationed in Florida for years before we moved here.
4. Did your folks own or rent a cottage at the beach? No, we always had a motorhome or travel trailer.
5. Have you or would you bring your kids to the same beaches you went to as a kid? My kids have always gone to the same beached I went to.
6. What type of bathing suit do you wear at the beach? One that covers as much as possible.
7. Do you have favorite food you like to eat at the shore? Fresh fruit.
8. Do you have a favorite drink you like at the shore? Water.
9. When is the next time you will be beach bound? I have no future beach plans.

1. In a social setting, are you more of a talker or a listener? Usually a listener.
2. Do you take compliments well? I guess so. I usually just say thank you and move on.
3. Did you ever go to camp as a kid? No.
4. What was your favorite game as a kid? I liked playing school.
5. If a sexy person was pursuing you, but you knew the person was married, would you go for it anyway? Absolutely not.
6. Use three words to describe yourself? Creative, family-oriented, persistant.
7. If your house was on fire, what would be the first thing you grabbed? My kids, my animals and my scrapbooks and photos.
8. Do you look like your mom or dad? I look a lot like my mom.
9. Anything big ever happen in your hometown? No.

Saturday 9: Tell Us About It June 28, 2008
Let's talk relationships! Pick a relationship. Either your current one, or a significant past one (You needn't be specific...). The only relationship that is worth talking about in my life is the one I have with Dave.
1. How did you meet? We met on match.com. We talked for hours for a couple of evenings and then met for dinner.
2. Was it lust at first sight? Not lust, but love. He brought me a rose, treated me like I was a princess and we have been together ever since. It will be five years next month and we are still very happy and very much in love.
3. Were they currently available? Yes, we were both divorced and ready for a committed relationship.
4. How important is physical attraction? There has to be some physical attraction to start a relationship but I think people have too high of expectations and sometimes you loose out on something very special because of looks.
5. How important is intellectual attraction? I think you need to be able to talk about things and enjoy the conversation so intellectual attraction is important especially in the long run.
6. How long until you had sex? Not long.
7. Is this/was this the love of your life? Absolutely.

Saturday 9: Summer Movies and Oil June 21, 2008
1. The other day I purchased gas for $3.96, which was less than the $4.37 my local station charges per gallon. What is the current gas price in your area for regular? Around $4.03
2. Will your vacation plans be altered by the price of gas? That along with the fact I have been unemployed since November.
3. Is there any movie this summer that you're looking forward to seeing? Sex and the City
4. Gas prices aside, what is your favorite vacation destination? South Carolina
5. Will you watch more film on DVD than in theaters this summer? Absolutely, with my Blockbuster membership, DVDSwap membership, the library and my DVR I will watch many more movies at home.
6. Will you fly anywhere this summer? Dave has to go back to Michigan for a court thing but nothing other than that.
7. Guess: How high will a gallon of gas peak at? I don't even want to think about that!
8. Will gas prices effect who you vote for in this fall's election? Probably not.
9. How much will the price of home heating oil effect you? Since I live in SW Florida it won't effect me much. The price to cool my home is starting to effect us and I just turned the thermostat up a bit.

Saturday 9: Happy Father's Day Eve June 14, 2008

1. How long since you have been with your dad? I saw him last month for Brandon's graduation.
2. How many siblings share your dad? Just one, my sister.
3. Will you see your dad tomorrow? No, I won't see him tomorrow.
4. Do you give him gifts on Father’s Day? I haven't gotten him anything yet but I will probably get him a gift certificate to Lowes. I did get him a card.
5. Have you ever had a tough time in your relationship with your father? Oh yeah, teenage years and when he knew the truth about my ex that I just wouldn't see.
6. What was the last thing that you did with your dad? Graduation get together last month.
7. Growing up, was your dad tough on you? He was very strict but I turned out ok!
8. Are you close to your father? Very.
9. How long since you have spoke to him? A day or so ago.

Satuurday 9: Another High School Meme May 31, 2008
1. Can you sing the fight song? I suppose I could if I could remember it!
2. Who was your favorite teacher? Mrs McKenna. She was the senior class advisor and my sociology and psychology.
3. What was your school mascot? Trojan
4. Did you go to the Prom? Both Junior and Senior years
5. If you could go back, would you? Hell, no!
6. What do you remember most about graduation? Let me preface this by saying I was a good kid and never got in trouble at school. We were told and told and told again that if we came to graduation under the influence we would not walk. Well, my best friend and I decided to find out how much they were watching but I guess we were not a big threat so they never checked us and we were drunk on some Boone's wine and walked! Thinking back now what a stupid thing to do!
7. Where were you on Senior Skip Day? At school, my parents were not into things like that!
8. Did you have a job your senior year? At the Dairy Queen.
9. Where did you go most often for lunch? to the cafeteria, we were not allowed to leave campus.

2. What has been your worst illness or injury? I was in a car accident in 1992 and I had spleen and colon repair emergency surgery. I have a huge scar on my stomach
3. Have you ever had a secret crush and then told the person? If yes, how did it go? Probably in high school and I don't think it went well.

Saturday 9: Family Ties May 3, 2008
1. Where and when were you born? Salem, Ohio
2. Do you have siblings? If yes, tell us more. I have one sister, she is four years younger than I am.
3. What are your parents’ names? My dad is Willard Andrew but he goes by Drew. My mom is Patty Jean.
4. Did you (or do you) know all four of your grandparents? I had four living grandparents until I was a senior in high school. I am now 45 and still have one living grandmother who is 92.
5. Do have children? If yes, tell us about them. If no, do you want them? I have three children, Nicole is 20, living with her boyfriend and daughter at her dad's. Brandon is 17 and will graduate this month from high school. He plans to go to Vo-Tech first for auto mechanics and when he is done with that he wants to take the firefighter's course. And my youngest is Brent, he is 12 and a 6th grader. He is full of energy and makes everyone laugh at his antics. You didn't ask but I also have one granddaughter, Bailey, who is 9 months old and the apple of her grandmother's eye.
6. Do you still live in the general area that you grew up in? No, the family moved to Naples, FL is 1970 and I have been here ever since.
7. Do you have cousins? If yes, are you or have you been close? I have 12 cousins. I see three of them on a fairly regular basis. The rest are spread out around the country so I have little or no contact with them.
8. How often does your family all get together? At least once a month or so. There is always a holiday or birthday to celebrate.
9. Is your significant other close to your family? Yes, my Mom and Dad love Dave! Which is a nice change from the previous relationship.

6. What were the most recent clothes that you purchased? My mom and I went shopping yesterday at Goodwill and Beall's. I got a ton of shirts and a couple of pair of pants
7. Who most recently did you say “I love you” to? Today alone I have told my granddaugher, my daughter, both my sons, my mom, my best friend and Dave "I love you!".
8. Who did you most recently text? I don't text. I have my kids text each other for me. I had Nicole text Brandon on Wednesday afternoon.
9. Who did you most recently kiss? I just gave Bailey a smooch.
