Another Rainy Saturday

So, with the weather being what is has been for the past few days - rainy - I haven't gotten a chance to take photos of the layouts I have finished recently.  Hopefully tomorrow I will find the time to get the photos taken.

Yesterday I got caught up in a book and read for five hours straight.  No crafting of any kind.

Today I had Miss Bella for a few hours so I played with her.  I am trying to put together some kind of weekly menu planner and worked on that a bit while she was here.  I had a headache from the weather so took a nap after she left and when I got up I sorted my completed pages.  The stack of pages on the bottom of the photo are 2007 pages and each stack is the next year up through 2012.  The stack not in line is older pages than 2007 and pages that have no date on them.  I want to get each years stack in chronological order and get then in albums.  They were taking up a good deal of space in my craft area.

Dave took me to dinner at Watermark Grille which is one of my favorite restaurants.  Afterwards he took me to JoAnne's.  I want to make a t-shirt quilt and needed some fusible web.  I needed a 36" robe zipper in black but they didn't have that.  I got a 1 3/4" circle punch for a mini album I am working on.  Hopefully, tomorrow I will be able to get a few crafty things done.

Have a great rest of the weekend.

Flowers, Life and Being Grateful

I love receiving flowers as much as the next gal, BUT, I don't want to have emergency gall bladder surgery as the reason to get them. If you read my blog you know I was going out for ribs Wednesday night...well very early Thursday morning I was in the ER with pain. First I was told I had a bladder and a kidney infection. I have had bladder infections before and I knew this pain was not a bladder infection type pain. Then they came back and said I had Pancreatitis. I am thinking, ok, don't know what that is, that might be what is wrong. Then they send me off for a CAT scan and guess what they find? A gall bladder full of gall stones and it's off to emergency surgery I go. I got to the hospital at 2:30 a.m. and was in surgery by 8:30 a.m. And my Mom and Dad sent me these beautiful flowers to cheer me up.
So, now I am home and feeling much better, not lifting another heavier than the remote control. My Mom came and took good care of me over the weekend, feeding me and doing my laundry. My sister, niece, her friend and brother and Brent were all here yesterday making me feel loved. Got some really cute cards and well wishes. Oh, and the former youth director came to the hospital to see me. I thought that was really nice and well beyond what was expected. Thanks Carol!

Dave and I went to the college this morning and got my books for this semester. Fortunately, I found out that even though I haven't gotten my financial aid, it did pay for my books. Good thing, one of the books was $199! Yikes!

Bailey is back staying with us. Nicole has had her share of housing issues this year and now is without a place to stay again. We have come up with a temporary solution if she needs it. She starts her new job next Monday so hopefully she will make some money and be able to get her own place soon.

I need to quite jabbering and get my desk cleaned off so I can get started working on my three online classes. I really don't want to get too far behind.

I am feeling grateful for family and friends. I am feeling grateful that I have a roof over my head and food in my refrigerator. I am feeling grateful that I have a job to go to tomorrow. I am grateful.

Packing

When I moved into this house five years ago I swore it was the last time I was going to move. WRONG!!!! Life happens, shit happens, and people morph into someone you don't even recognize. And you have to move! Again! Egads!

So, I am starting the long process of packing ALL my stuff. I capitalize all because I have a lot of stuff. Craft stuff, eBay stuff, thrift store shopping stuff, clothes, purses and shoes stuff, kitchen stuff, knick knack stuff, Bailey stuff, Brent stuff. Way too much stuff. But I have started and I will continue and I will be done. Eventually. Maybe in 2011.

Brent and I are going to look at a place tonight. Not my first choice of a place to live but at least I will be able to afford it. And that will make it easier to sleep at night. Peace of mind is a wonderful thing.

The Quiet Life

With the newest changes in our house - Dave moving out and taking the dogs - my life is very, very quiet. And right now I am enjoying the peacefulness. Last night Brent and I watched two movies - The Wild and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. One day a week or so ago I was wanting to start a new book and pulled the Sorcerer's Stone off the shelf at work and started reading it. I was finished in less than 48 hours and loved it. I can't believe that I never read any of the Harry Potter books! Anyway, after reading the book I decided that I wanted to see the movie and it was great! I think Brent enjoyed watching it again. I am ready to start book number 2 in the series.

I went to bed and read my book (Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah) for awhile but couldn't fall asleep so I made a big pile of pillows in the middle of my bed and popped in another movie - The Perfect Man. I got about half way through it when I couldn't keep my eyes open.

Back to my quiet life - it is nice to spend time with Brent. I am scrapbooking, organizing, thinking about life in general and getting ready for other changes. Life is ever changing. Life has it's ups and downs. Life is good and will be good for me again soon.
