Can I just say...

that I don't mind not going to work? I was a stay at home mom for 15 years before I got divorced. I know how to keep myself busy all day long. Now if I could just get someone to send me a paycheck every week for being at home, we would be in good shape!

I have started drinking green smoothies. My Mom was just diagnosed with wet macular degeneration. This eye disease runs on both my Mom and my Dad's side of the family so I am getting a bit freaked out about that. So, I did some research and learned about green smoothies. I make mine with fruit, yogurt, and spinach. At first I thought I would have to gag it down but it is surprisingly very good. Not only are they a great way to get spinach they are supposed to give you energy, help you loose weight and tame the cravings for sweets. I have had them three mornings now and have committed to a week, but will probably extend that committment to a month. We'll see how it goes.

Sunday Scrappin'

Sunday Scrappin' for March 29, 2009. Can you believe a quarter of the year is over? It hardly seems possible.

I didn't get too much done this week. I did get My 365 blog almost caught up. And I am working on catching up on my layouts for those daily photos.

Here are the pages I got done this week. All are digital. First is one from Computer Trick for Scrapbooking 3 by Jessica Sprague. If you want to learn something about digital scrapbooking Jessica is the person to learn from. I love the way this layout turned out. It took quite a bit of time but looks amazing.
Here are two more pages from My 365 project.

and a layout from on the My 365 project prompts.
For my to-do's this week:
  1. Continue scrapbooking.
  2. Continue working on My 365 project.
  3. Continue working on on-line classes.
  4. I found a used scraprack on Craig's List and it should be here towards to end of the week. I am hoping this will help me sitting in my scrapbook room not knowing where to start.
Last week's challenge was to use the colors of the new Sunday Scrappin' blog. Although I love the color of the new blog I didn't use them this week. Next week's challenge: use just one layer. A card or scrapbook page without layers... just photos and embellishments as separate pieces. If you're like me and used to layering all your photos at least once, this can be quite a challenge!

Just us on Sunday Scrappin' and have a great Sunday!

Officially Unemployed AGAIN!

They say the more you do something the easier it gets. And now with my third job lay off in four years I can officially say that it is no big surprise to me anymore. Since I usually work in the accounting/bookkeeping end of the businesses I work for I know when things are getting bad. So, this morning I was officially laid off. So I came home and filed for unemployment and food stamp benefits until I can find another job.

Changes

You know how sometimes you just get "that" feeling? Well, I have been having that feeling for a couple of weeks now at work. That feeling that something is not quite right. I will let you know tomorrow how right that feeling was.

Sunday Scrappin'

Sunday Scrappin' March 22, 2009

I took a mental health day Friday and spent a bit of time working on scrapbook layouts. My 19 year old wanted to know what a mental health day was and I told him it was a day off of work so you don't go crazy.

My ta-da's this week:
First two pages are from A Snapshot of My Life which is kind of like the Project 365 except on a one week a month time frame. I am doing this challenge as well as the Project 365 challenge. These pages are 6" x 12" just to change it up a bit.

Pages 3 and 4 are quick pages that all I did was drop in the photos and journal. How fun is that?

Page 5 is for my Book of Me. I found this prompt "If I Were A Rich Girl" here and used a sketch from 52 Sketches 52 Weeks.
Two pages for My 365 challenge. Here is where I get my prompts from and here is My 365 blog.

The next two pages are layouts from the 365 Project.

And the last two that I finished up this morning are from My 365.

My ta-da's this week include: Finish getting caught up on my photos, layout prompt and weekly layout on My 365 project. Work on my two on-line scrapbook classes.

Last week's challenge was to use a quote as a main element on your page or project. All of My 365 pages have quotes on them so I think that counts. Next week's challenge: I want you to use the colors of my new blog template. It's kind of a bright, bold combination... so let's have fun with it! Since I really like the new blog at Sunday Scrappin' I think this should be easy.
We are heading to Fort Myers this afternoon to meet my Mom, Dad, sister and nephews and nieces for dinner at Macaroni Grill. My dad's birthday is today - he is 71. I will share some pictures later. I am getting him a gift card for a restaurant and some homemade pastries from Naples Famous Pizza. Should make for a fun Sunday afternoon. Hope your Sunday is fun too!

Sunday Scrappin'

Sunday Scrappin' for March 15, 2009
The first two pages are part of my 365 Project. Click here to see more of my 365 Project.

This is Layout #10 of my 365 Project. This has got to be one of my favorite digital layouts ever.
Two paper scrapbook pages from Sea World. These are based on sketches from Got Sketch 103. If you enjoy using sketches this is one super class.

I am taking a class over at Get it Scrapped called Mad Digital Skills. The first lesson was on using brushes. This is what I came up with using brushes.
And the second lesson from Mad Digital Skillz was on using overlays. This is what I came up with for this class.
And another Got Sketch 103 sketch done in paper! Three paper layouts this week! Wahoo!

I didn't make it to round 2 of the Go Digital scrapbook contest. It was my first time entering a contest. I don't know what they are looking for but I will try again.
From my to-do's last week - I worked on getting caught up on My 365 project. I am not totally caught up but it is getting there. And I made three "real" scrapbook pages! Yeah!

My to-do's this week:
Continue working on my craft room/area.
Continue working on My 365 project and get caught up.
Make some more "real" scrapbook pages.
I want to stay current with my class, It's Mad Digital Skilz at Debbie Hodges.

Last week's challenge was to use only "spring-ish" pastel colors for one entire project. I did the two pages of Bailey with her flower head piece that are done is light blue and pink. The challenge for next Sunday: use a quote as a main element on your page or project. There are some great scrapbooking quotes HERE, or, you can use any quote you like. Make it the title, make it an accent, use it in your journaling... it's up to you!
I wish everyone a happy Sunday!

Sunday Scrappin'

Join us for Sunday Scrappin' March 8, 2009. I do not like Daylight Saving time. I do not like changing time twice a year. I always feel a bit off for a few days. Today I am going to use that excuse to work in my craft room.

My ta-da's this week:

A double page layout of Nicole and Bailey when she was only a few weeks old.

This layout is from a prompt from My 365 Days challenge I am attempting to keep up with. You can check out my photos, prompts and layouts here. I am not totally caught up but am working on it. I have my photos taken I just have posted them with the prompts. And I am a bit behind in my layouts.
I entered this layout into the Supreme Team VII Challenge at goDigitalScrapbooking.com. This is my Round 1 entry. We had to use only the supplies in the digital kit given to us. I think it would be fun to be a GDS Supreme Team Member but there are many, many people in Round 1. We'll see how it goes.

From my to-do's last week - I worked on the stuff outside the craft room. I sorted some of the stuff in the boxes and set up the TV area. I also work on getting caught up on My 365 project.

My to-do's this week:

  1. Continue working on my craft room/area.
  2. Continue working on My 365 project and get caught up.
  3. Make some "real" scrapbook pages.
  4. I am taking an online digital class that starts tomorrow. It's Mad Digital Skilz at Debbie Hodges. I am really looking forward to it and want to stay current with it. I also took Got Sketch 103 and I want to utilize the sketches I received in that class.
Last week's challenge was to try IT. You know... that sketch you have saved... that new technique you saw... whatever it is that you keep thinking you'll try one day- do it! :) I think entering a layout into a contest for the first time is a try it. This week's challenge: use only "spring-ish" pastel colors for one entire project.

Sunday Scrappin'

Sunday Scrappin' for March 1, 2009. I only got two pages done this week but I was happy with how they turned out.

I also got my bookshelves put together and all the books put into it. I didn't get any thing done in my craft area but did work on a couple of bead projects.

My to-do's this week:
  1. Work on my craft room/area. Boxes outside in the alcove need to be emptied and put away. TV area needs to be set up.
  2. I really need to get caught up on My 365 project. I am behind in my photos and way behind in my posting so hopefully this week I will get somewhere with that.
  3. Make some "real" scrapbook pages.
Last week's challenge was to duplicate! Use the same colors/ decorative elements twice, but slightly changed... in a two-page layout, or in two cards, or in two of whatever else you're making. I think my two page digi layout counts.
The challenge for this week: try IT. You know... that sketch you have saved... that new technique you saw... whatever it is that you keep thinking you'll try one day- do it! :)

I am off to Wally World, JoAnne's and Micheal's with my mom. Have a great Sunday and a wonderful, productive week!
