Sunday Scrappin'

I have been scrapbooking since before 1996 and I have always said there are three distinct activities in scrapbooking - shopping for scrapbook supplies, organizing scrapbook supplies and then actual scrapbooking. I am glad that I am finished with shopping for scrapbook supplies. I can only image the thousands of dollars I have spent on scrapbook supplies that I have never used and never opened. Now, I wish I was done organizing my scrapbook supplies. I have never had a space that I was totally happy with and I have determined that I just have way too much stuff and I will never get it all organized unless I ruthlessly purge my supplies. So, this week I went through two boxes. One was older duplicate photos that I have already scrapbooked. I threw away a bunch of random photos and am going to let my kids go through the rest. If they don't want them they are going in the trash. I have one small stack that I kept for myself. The second box was miscellaneous supplies. I have started a trash pile, a sell or give away pile and a keep pile. I plan to be ruthless. I want an organized scrap area where I can actually do some paper scrapbooking. I will let you know how it goes.

This week I got three digital layouts done. These are all from Jessica Sprague's Photoshop Friday series. For only a dollar you get some awesome templates and instructions to make great layouts.

My to-do's for next week:
  1. Continue doing something, anything in my never ending quest for organization of my scrap supplies.
  2. Catch up on My Project Life 365 pictures, journaling, and blog posts.
  3. I still have not done a thing other than download the materials from the on line class with Shimelle Lane. It is both photography and scrapbooking so I want to get started with that this week.
The challenge last week was to use flowers on a layout - there are two flowers on the Lovely layout so I think that qualifies.

Sunday Scrappin'

I haven't felt much like doing anything this week but I did get a few things accomplished early in the week. Last week I put together my 2006 album and there were a few missing pages. I still had these pictures on my computer so I did two pages of our SeaWorld trip in 2006 digitally.

This two page layout was from this year's Mother's Day celebration. I love these memories.
I found my stack of completed, printed scrapbook pages and have put them in a safe spot. Now to remember where they are when I am ready to put them in albums. I also worked on My Project Life 2010 early in the week and am now behind again.

My to-do's for next week:
  1. Catch up on my Jessica Sprague card class.
  2. Catch up on My Project Life 365 pictures, journaling, and blog posts.
  3. I am taking another on line class with Shimelle Lane and haven't done anything with it. It is both photography and scrapbooking so I want to get started with that this week.
Last week's challenge was to use a large number of photos on a layout. I believe my SeaWorld layout meets that criteria.

Have a great week and stop by and share at Sunday Scrappin'!

Sunday Scrappin'

I got quite a few layouts finished this week - all digital.

The other huge scrapbooking accomplishment this week was putting together my 2006 albums. There are still a few missing pages but all the completed pages are in page protectors in the albums. As I was going through my completed pages I realized I have another stack of completed pages somewhere. I am going to try and find those this week.

My to-do's for next week:
  1. Find my stack of completed scrapbook pages.
  2. Catch up on my Jessica Sprague card class.
  3. Catch up on My Project Life 365 pictures, journaling, and blog posts.
  4. I am taking another on line class with Shimelle Lane and haven't done anything with it. It is both photography and scrapbooking so I want to get started with that this week.
Last week's challenge was to use red, white and blue in a layout. I didn't use those colors this week.

Have a great week!

Sunday Scrappin'

It's bright and too early on a Sunday morning but when you can't get back to sleep, what's a girl to do? I am taking a freebie hybrid card making class with, you guessed it, my favorite teacher Jessica Sprague. What was supposed to be a one week class turned into a two week class, Woohoo! Here are the cards I have finished this week. The first two photos show cards that you just pop in the paper, the sentiment and print. Easy peasy!

Now we get to the real hybrid stuff. Repeat steps from above, glue on flower and rhinestones and you are done.
This one is a cool idea. Print your elements of your card, cut out, punch, distress, staple. Add ribbon, attach to cardstock and you have a great card.
This is my favorite card of the week - a pop up card. I can't wait to show Nicole - as a kid she used to love to make pop up cards. Again, printed the elements, cut them out, attached them to cardstock, added embellishments and viola! another great card. My Mom's birthday is next month, I may have to give her this card.

I also got caught up with Project Life 365. Here are the completed pages.

I didn't get anything done on my to-do list from last week so I guess I will post it again.

My to-do's for next week: (the exact same as last week)
  1. Continue working on the This is Me album. I have figured out that working with paper supplies is too much work for my right now. I wonder if I should complete this album digitally - now there's an idea.
  2. Continue working on my eBay business. Didn't get a thing listed this again this week. I really need to find some balance in my life.
  3. I am not loving the beaded ornaments so think I will put those away for awhile.
I didn't get anything done for the challenge last week which was to stickers. As many stickers as I have and I didn't do anything!

Hope you have a great 4th of July. Our big plans include trying out a new (to us) Pizza parlor right down the street from us. Woo-hoo!
