Booking Through Thursday

Holidays July 3, 2008

It’s a holiday weekend here in the U.S., so let’s keep today’s question simple–What are you reading? Anything special? Any particularly juicy summer reading? Nothing particularly juicy but I realized a week or so ago that I hadn't read all of Janet Evanovich's older books so I picked up a hardback that has her first three Stephanie Plum novels, One for the Money, Two for the Dough, and Three to Get Deadly. I am about 3/4 of the way through One for the Money. Fun, easy reading.

Baker's Dozen Layouts 12 and 13

Well I am happy to say I am done with the Baker's Dozen class from BPS.
These two layouts of my girls and my boys are layout 12 and they were both fun to make.
This layout of myself was layout 13. I really hate pictures of myself but at least I had a fairly current one.
And this is my egg carton that I decorated before class began. I am not sure what I am going to do with it now that is it empty but the whole class was a fun experience.

I have two other classes that I haven't even started scrapbooking for. One is called Got Sketch 101 and the other is Techniques 101. I am going to work on cleaning off my desk and then I will start on these two classes.

Baker's Dozen Layouts 10 and 11

I will be glad when all of my classes are done and I have completed all the assignments and I can get down to doing scrapbooking the way I like to. These layouts are layouts 10 and 11 from Baker's Dozen at BPS. Although I have enjoyed all the classes I am a bit tired of scrapbooking some else's way. Neither of these layout are the type I would normally do but at least they are done and ready for the album. I am hopeful that the classes I have taken will give me the push I needed to continue on doing a little bit of scrapbooking every day.

28 Days - Day 28

Well I can finally call it done. My 28 Days class that is. It took WAY longer than 28 days but it was fun. The photo prompt for Day 28 was to take a picture of ourselves. Which I did not do. Oh well.

The project for Day 28 was to take some not so great pictures and create a layout. I created a two page layout cause that is what I like to create.

Yet Another Digital Layout

Ok, I have made a decision. Although I love how these layouts turn out I am finishing up the Now We're Rockin' class at JessicaSprague.com and not doing another digital class. I am not enjoying this process as all. This layout took me HOURS! I do not want to spend hours on a single layout no matter how good it turns out. I could have done 6-8 regular scrapbook layouts in the time it took me to do this one layout. I have learned a ton from the two classes I have taken and would recommend the classes to anyone who wants to tackle digital scrapbooking but my personal preference is paper scrapbooking. That being said, I am going to post this and head upstairs to my craft room and work on some traditional scrapbook pages.

TMI Tuesday

TMI Tuesday #141 - Marriage Edition July 1, 2008
1. Do you believe in marriage? I absolutely believe in marriage.
2. What is marriage to you? A loving, caring relationship between two people who look out for the other.
3. If you are married, why did you do it? If you are not, why have you not married? We are not married due to an ex who is a total and complete b**** and would try and take my house if we were married. It's a long and complicated story. But we live together as if we were married. We couldn't be any more married if we were married.
4. Do you believe in divorce? I don't believe in divorce but I have been divorced twice.
5. If you are divorced, why did you do it? If you have not, are there certain circumstances under which you would agree to a divorce? I was 20 when I got my first divorce after less than a year of marriage, he was lazy and refused to work. My second divorce came after 17 years of marriage. I left due to emotional and mental abuse and have found out since the divorce about all sorts of illegal activities that he was (and is) involved in. Fortunately I got out before he got in trouble for those things.
Bonus (as in optional): [ed note:I am not trying to spark a get political debate, I am much to superficial for that]Do you believe that same sex marriages are a threat to traditional marriages? I can't see why they are a threat to traditional marriages. If same sex marriages are not allowed will there be more traditional marriages? I don't think so. Just my opinion.
