28 Days - Day 24

These photos are for Day 24 of my 28 Days class at Big Picture Scrapbooking. The photo prompt was to take a picture from the front door. I took two pictures since I wasn't excited about the view of the vans from the front door. So, I took a second picture that shows the yard and the bird feeders.
The project for day 24 was to alter a bread board. This was a fun project. I had to have Dave stop at A.C. Moore and pick up some Glue Dots to attach the flowers and the buttons. What a great guy!

28 Days - Day 25

Last post for now. This is Day 25 of my 28 Days class over at Big Picture Scrapbooking. The photo prompt for Day 25 was mode of transportation. I have the boring ole' mini van. I love my van. I will probably have a van long after my kids are all grown up (what am I talking about, two are already grown!). I love the space it has and I always have enough room for one more person.
The project for Day 25 was to create a tag with a favorite photo. This photo is of Bailey on the floor playing with our dog Buddy. They were having such a good time and she was laughing so hard. And I think the tag is adorable!

28 Days - Day 19

Again, another update on my 28 Days class over at Big Picture Scrapbooking. The picture prompt on Day 19 was a picture of your scrap area. I am very lucky to have a whole room devoted to my scrapbooking (and other crafts). I love my room, it is at the top of the stairs so I can hear what is going on with the boys and the animals. I have a small tv and a radio and all is good!
The project for Day 19 was to create a bookmark from a tag. I really like the way this turned out. It was quick and easy and would make a cute gift to give along with a book or a gift card to a book store.

28 Days - Day 16

Ok, I fell seriously behind on my 20 Days class at Big Picture Scrapbooking. So now I am playing catch up. Picture prompt for Day 16 was a pile of ...whatever. I choose my boxes in my family room. Now, since I have taken this picture this pile is gone! And another taller pile of boxes has taken it's place. We are trying to get our storage unit cleaned out so I am working on getting rid of stuff. I have listed a ton on eBay, gave about four boxes of stuff to my daughter and thrown out a lot of crap!
The project for Day 16 was to create four cards for our rolodex inspiration file that used our favorite stamps. Since it has been so long since I used stamps I really didn't have any favoriates but I was able to come up with my four rolodex cards.

28 Days - Day 14

The photo prompt for Day 14 of 28 Days was something yummy. One of our favorite places to go is SweeTreats. They mix all sorts of goodies in soft serve ice cream. My mom, Brent and I went to SweeTreats and had something yummy!
The project for Day 14 was to alter a frame. I purchased the frame this hot pink color so didn't cover the whole frame with paper. I stamped the flourish in the corner, stamped the words on the small pieces of paper, added some buttons, some ribbon and Mod Podged everthing down. Then I added a picture of my favorite scrapbooking subject right now - my granddaughter Bailey.

28 Days - Day 11

The photo prompt for Day 11 was street sign. So, I took my trusty camera and walked to the entrance to our development and took a picture of our street sign. I live on Summit Place Circle.

Day 11's project was to make four cards for our Rolodex Inspiration File. I finally determined that I was over-thinking this project and just picked out paper and embellishments that matched and viola! I have four cards for my Inspiration File!

28 Days - Day 6

Yes, I did skip day 5 of my 28 Days class from Big Picture Scrapbooking. I have the project done I just haven't taken the picture yet so I will share that day later.

This is Day 6. The picture prompt is something or someone that makes you smile. Well here are two of my favorite reasons to smile - my two sons. Brent is standing, he's 12 and a 6th grader. He's a fun kid and he loves to make Mom laugh. Brandon is almost 18 and a Senior in high school. He is working on his Senior Project that is a scrapbook with essays included. Of course, he has waited until the last minute to do this project but it will be great when it is done.

The project for Day 6 was to alter a candle. This was a quick and very fun project. Just a bit of paper, flowers and ribbon make a plain candle a wowie! This would make a great gift!

28 Days - Day 4

Well, I have fallen a bit behind on my 28 Days class over at Big Picture Scrapbooking, but I am not too worried as I am almost caught up now. I didn't want to be crafting on Mother's Day so I just spent time with the boys.

The picture prompt for Day 4 was something you use every day. My first thought was my computer but I figured lots of people would use that. So, I took a picture of my tea kettle and mug tree. First thing I do when I come downstairs is put the kettle on for a cup of General Foods International French Vanilla coffee. Yum!

The project for Day 4 was to alter a rolodex file and then create four cards that depicted things you love. My four cards include family, music, crafts and faith. Most of the papers are from Close To My Heart.

Big Picture Scrapbooking - 28 Days

I am taking a class over at Big Picture Scrapbooking called 28 Days. My hope is that it will spark my creativity and at the end of the class I will be so pumped up that I will start scrapbooking again. The pre-class assignment was to create a mini album. We will be using this album to put our daily pictures in. Here is my album and the inside pages we will use for journaling. I need to add a tag to the spine of the album but right now I can't find my tags!

These two pictures are from Day 1 of 28 Days. We were to take a picture of our pantry, no straightening allowed. Yikes, I hope I got a good angle 'cause my pantry is always a mess! The other picture is the journal we were to alter. Since I liked the leaf motif on front of the journal I didn't do much in the way of altering. I dry brushed some blue paint on the front of the album, used a Close to My Heart stamp to stamp the sentiment in Garnet, added some beige ribbon, some burgundy fibers and put some stickers on the end of the fibers. I was hoping to find my leaf buttons but alas, I cannot find them either. Trying to do this class while moving my scrapbook room may be a bigger challenge than I thought!
