Accomplishments

For those of you that don't already know this - my Mom rocks! She and my Dad came down on Sunday, spent a couple of hours with Brent and I and then I took them over to see my new home. My Dad left for home right after that and my Mom is staying with me for a week. To help me pack. How awesome is that? Yesterday we got the utility room and the garage/family room done! I took pictures of a bunch of stuff I want to sell and listed it on Craig's List this morning. And I am feeling like I may actually get to the end of the packing and moving saga. After dinner I worked on my bedroom some more and I think I am done in there except for odds and ends. We are going to start in the office/craft area of my living room and then we just have the living room, dining room and kitchen to do. We took a load over to the storage unit and there is another load in my car that I am going to take over this morning. My Mom is awesome!

I am SO Ready to be Done!

I am so tired of my house being full of boxes and plastic tubs. I cannot wait to have this move over with. It has been slow going since it is just little ole' me packing and occasionally I get a bit of help from Brent. My Mom arrives today and she is going to help me pack while I am at the store. I will enjoy our time together and she is an awesome packer! I guess I am not that great at packing since I haven't had to do it all that much. I have really only moved four times in the last 25 years.

And I guess the moving wouldn't be so bad if I weren't taking three classes, working 30+ hours a week and raising a child. But, you gotta do what you gotta do!

We are going over to the new house tonight so my Mom and Dad can see it. I am also going to take measurements so I can figure out how much of my furniture I can take. In my mind I can take it all, in reality I don't think it all will fit.

Changes

It has been a busy, busy week for me. My washer broke down which is not a good thing. I got it fixed yesterday which is a very good thing. Spent too much money to get it fixed but you can't live without a washer for too long. My DVD stopped working. The cable guy (not Larry) came last night and found out the lawn maintenance people had ran over the cord so he replaced that. And I turned in my DVD until after I move. I am not going to have time to watch too much TV anyway.

And I am moving. I bought a mobile home. Now a mobile home is not my first choice in a home BUT I paid cash for it and will only be responsible for lot rent. And lot rent is something I can afford on my own. I got approval yesterday at the mobile home park and all is right in my world for awhile. Now, I have to pack. A lot. My goal for this weekend is to get my spare bedroom all packed. Quite a chore since a good bit of craft and scrapbook stuff is still up there and all the M & M stuff is in there. So I am going to quit procrastinating and go pack a few boxes before I have to leave for work.

Packing

When I moved into this house five years ago I swore it was the last time I was going to move. WRONG!!!! Life happens, shit happens, and people morph into someone you don't even recognize. And you have to move! Again! Egads!

So, I am starting the long process of packing ALL my stuff. I capitalize all because I have a lot of stuff. Craft stuff, eBay stuff, thrift store shopping stuff, clothes, purses and shoes stuff, kitchen stuff, knick knack stuff, Bailey stuff, Brent stuff. Way too much stuff. But I have started and I will continue and I will be done. Eventually. Maybe in 2011.

Brent and I are going to look at a place tonight. Not my first choice of a place to live but at least I will be able to afford it. And that will make it easier to sleep at night. Peace of mind is a wonderful thing.
