New

I am amazed that is has been almost three weeks since I posted anything here. My life the past couple of months has been challenging to say the least. But things are starting to look up and there are more than a couple of things to share:

  • Probably most exciting is I am dating a great guy. I am not going to get into too much more than that but it been a little over two months and things are grand.
  • My son and his girlfriend are going to make me a grandma again. I am over the moon excited about having another grandbaby to love on.
  • I found a job this week. It's for a small hurricane protection company and so far, it's a great job. Part time for now, could work into full time and it's about 3 minutes from home. Love my commute. Pay is decent and the people are great.
  • Someone is coming out tomorrow to look at the a/c and with an unexpected blessing we should have the a/c fixed soon.
  • My daughter keeps surprising me in the way she is maturing and becoming a most amazing young woman.
  • Brent started high school and loves it.
  • This week was catch up week as I had breakfast with my friend Susan, lunch with Nicole and Bailey Boo and dinner with Kristy. Catching up with friends and family is always a great stress reliever.
God is good and his blessings are flowing down on me and my family. I am going to keep a smile on my face and a prayer in my heart and hope that everything continues to go smoothly.

Have a great Labor Day weekend.

Sunday Scrappin'

It is Sunday and time once again for Sunday Scrappin'. If you are a paper crafter please come join us!

I got eight digital layouts done this week and am really happy that I did. The first four are from the last three weeks of Photoshop Fridays from Jessica Sprague. I love her classes and her Photoshop Fridays class are available for $1.00 the week they are released.

The last four layouts are of Bailey's 3rd birthday. I used sketches from Paper Craft Planet.

Did you hear about the free class over at Big Picture Scrapbooking? It's call Big Festival and it is 13 days of project and layouts from a different instructor each day. It is an awesome class and the price is right! Last day to sign up is August 24th.

My to-do's for next week: (copied and pasted from last week with a few alterations)
  1. Continue doing something, anything in my never ending quest for organization of my scrap supplies.
  2. I have all the pictures taken and downloaded to my computer, I now need to post them on my other blog and journal My Project Life 365.
  3. I still have not done a thing other than download the materials from the on line class with Shimelle Lane. It is both photography and scrapbooking so I want to get started with that this week. This one has been on my to-do list for four weeks now. Ugh!
  4. Scrapbook four pages - either paper or digital.
I am counting my four layouts of Bailey's birthday for the challenge last week of finishing up a layout. I have been working on these layouts for awhile and finally put the finishing touches on them.

Have a great week and happy Sunday Scrappin'.

Sunday Scrappin' (on a Monday)

I have been on an organizing kick recently. Not all out spending my entire day organizing but thinking about where I can put things and how I need to purge 15 years of scrapbook supplies. I was pointed to this website and was astonished to realize how much paper I had and how I could NEVER use all the paper I had. I can't measure my paper by inches but more by yards. Yikes, I have a lot of paper. So, my ta-da this week is I did a bit of paper purging. I went through my paper that was separated by colors - okay a few of the colors - pink, purple, blue, green and brown. And I have nearly 10 inches of paper to get rid of.

My to-do's for next week: (copied and pasted from last week with one addition)
This one has been on my to-do list for three weeks now. Ugh!
  4. I have two weeks worth of Photoshop Friday classes from Jessica Sprague that I haven't completed. Would like to complete them this week as well.
Since I didn't do any scrapbooking this week I didn't participate in the challenge this week.

Sunday Scrappin'

This week was not a great week for me. I had a major meltdown the prior week and was regrouping and mending for a good portion of this week. But I did think about scrapbooking, I just didn't get much done.

My ta-da's this week include going through one vertical paper holder and purging pattern paper and cardstock that I am never going to use. I got rid of about 3/4 of the paper in the one holder. I feel good and at least I got something organized today.

My to-do's for next week:
  1. Continue doing something, anything in my never ending quest for organization of my scrap supplies.
  2. I have all the pictures take and downloaded to my computer, I now need to post them on my other blog and journal My Project Life 365.
  3. I still have not done a thing other than download the materials from the on line class with Shimelle Lane. It is both photography and scrapbooking so I want to get started with that this week. This one has been on my to-do list for three weeks now. Ugh!
Since I didn't do any scrapbooking this week I didn't participate in the challenge this week.

Sunday Scrappin'

I have been scrapbooking since before 1996 and I have always said there are three distinct activities in scrapbooking - shopping for scrapbook supplies, organizing scrapbook supplies and then actual scrapbooking. I am glad that I am finished with shopping for scrapbook supplies. I can only image the thousands of dollars I have spent on scrapbook supplies that I have never used and never opened. Now, I wish I was done organizing my scrapbook supplies. I have never had a space that I was totally happy with and I have determined that I just have way too much stuff and I will never get it all organized unless I ruthlessly purge my supplies. So, this week I went through two boxes. One was older duplicate photos that I have already scrapbooked. I threw away a bunch of random photos and am going to let my kids go through the rest. If they don't want them they are going in the trash. I have one small stack that I kept for myself. The second box was miscellaneous supplies. I have started a trash pile, a sell or give away pile and a keep pile. I plan to be ruthless. I want an organized scrap area where I can actually do some paper scrapbooking. I will let you know how it goes.

This week I got three digital layouts done. These are all from Jessica Sprague's Photoshop Friday series. For only a dollar you get some awesome templates and instructions to make great layouts.

My to-do's for next week:
  1. Continue doing something, anything in my never ending quest for organization of my scrap supplies.
  2. Catch up on My Project Life 365 pictures, journaling, and blog posts.
  3. I still have not done a thing other than download the materials from the on line class with Shimelle Lane. It is both photography and scrapbooking so I want to get started with that this week.
The challenge last week was to use flowers on a layout - there are two flowers on the Lovely layout so I think that qualifies.

Sunday Scrappin'

I haven't felt much like doing anything this week but I did get a few things accomplished early in the week. Last week I put together my 2006 album and there were a few missing pages. I still had these pictures on my computer so I did two pages of our SeaWorld trip in 2006 digitally.

This two page layout was from this year's Mother's Day celebration. I love these memories.
I found my stack of completed, printed scrapbook pages and have put them in a safe spot. Now to remember where they are when I am ready to put them in albums. I also worked on My Project Life 2010 early in the week and am now behind again.

My to-do's for next week:
  1. Catch up on my Jessica Sprague card class.
  2. Catch up on My Project Life 365 pictures, journaling, and blog posts.
  3. I am taking another on line class with Shimelle Lane and haven't done anything with it. It is both photography and scrapbooking so I want to get started with that this week.
Last week's challenge was to use a large number of photos on a layout. I believe my SeaWorld layout meets that criteria.

Have a great week and stop by and share at Sunday Scrappin'!

Sunday Scrappin'

I got quite a few layouts finished this week - all digital.

The other huge scrapbooking accomplishment this week was putting together my 2006 albums. There are still a few missing pages but all the completed pages are in page protectors in the albums. As I was going through my completed pages I realized I have another stack of completed pages somewhere. I am going to try and find those this week.

My to-do's for next week:
  1. Find my stack of completed scrapbook pages.
  2. Catch up on my Jessica Sprague card class.
  3. Catch up on My Project Life 365 pictures, journaling, and blog posts.
  4. I am taking another on line class with Shimelle Lane and haven't done anything with it. It is both photography and scrapbooking so I want to get started with that this week.
Last week's challenge was to use red, white and blue in a layout. I didn't use those colors this week.

Have a great week!

Sunday Scrappin'

It's bright and too early on a Sunday morning but when you can't get back to sleep, what's a girl to do? I am taking a freebie hybrid card making class with, you guessed it, my favorite teacher Jessica Sprague. What was supposed to be a one week class turned into a two week class, Woohoo! Here are the cards I have finished this week. The first two photos show cards that you just pop in the paper, the sentiment and print. Easy peasy!

Now we get to the real hybrid stuff. Repeat steps from above, glue on flower and rhinestones and you are done.
This one is a cool idea. Print your elements of your card, cut out, punch, distress, staple. Add ribbon, attach to cardstock and you have a great card.
This is my favorite card of the week - a pop up card. I can't wait to show Nicole - as a kid she used to love to make pop up cards. Again, printed the elements, cut them out, attached them to cardstock, added embellishments and viola! another great card. My Mom's birthday is next month, I may have to give her this card.

I also got caught up with Project Life 365. Here are the completed pages.

I didn't get anything done on my to-do list from last week so I guess I will post it again.

My to-do's for next week: (the exact same as last week)
  1. Continue working on the This is Me album. I have figured out that working with paper supplies is too much work for my right now. I wonder if I should complete this album digitally - now there's an idea.
  2. Continue working on my eBay business. Didn't get a thing listed this again this week. I really need to find some balance in my life.
  3. I am not loving the beaded ornaments so think I will put those away for awhile.
I didn't get anything done for the challenge last week which was to stickers. As many stickers as I have and I didn't do anything!

Hope you have a great 4th of July. Our big plans include trying out a new (to us) Pizza parlor right down the street from us. Woo-hoo!

Sunday Scrappin'

Another week has flown by and it is the end of June. Today I am having the whole family over for a late Father's Day celebration and we are celebrating a couple of birthdays as well.

I am so excited that I finished another big project that I started before I moved. It's not the one that has been on my to-do list for the past couple of weeks but it is completed and I am happy about that. It is from Cathy Zielske's Me The Abridged Version class from Big Picture Scrapbooking. I titled my album An Encyclopedia of My Ordinary Life and you can see it here.

Along with that project I also did a two page layout from Jessica Sprague's Photoshop Friday series.

My to-do's for next week: (the exact same as last week)
  1. Continue working on the This is Me album. I was too busy working on other projects to work on this this week but hopefully I will get to it this week.
  2. Continue working on my eBay business. Didn't get a thing listed this week. I really need to find some balance in my life.
  3. I started a beaded Christmas ornament kit and I want to work on that. I haven't watched much TV this week so I haven't done much on my ornament kits.
I didn't get anything done for the challenge last week which was to scrapbook an unusual summer activity.

Have a great day, a good week and happy Sunday Scrappin'!

Another Project Finished

I want to share with you another finished project. Again, this is not the project I started out to finish but it is finished none the less. I started working on Cathy Zielke's class Me, The Abridged Version sometime in September 2009. And then I moved and everything craft related got put on a back burner. Well, this week I found the pages I had completed in September and got going on finishing the book. It was an awesome experience based on the book Encyclopedia of My Life which is what I titled my album.
