June Round Up

I took a class from Katie the Scrapbook Lady through Big Picture Classes and one of the things she does on a monthly basis is a Round Up. I thought this was a really great idea so am starting it this month.

1. What books and/or magazines did I read this month?

Magazines - People May 9, 2011; People May 16, 2011; Creative Spaces; Woman’s Day May 2011; Scrapbooking Tips and Tricks 2011; People My 31, 2011; People June 13, 2011; People June 27. 2011; Woman’s Day July 2011; Cosmopolitan April 2011

Books - Wicked by Any Other Name by Linda Wisdom; Monday Mourning by Kathy Reichs; Dead Reckoning by Charlene Harris; Hex in High Heels by Linda Wisdom; Bossypants by Tina Fey; Dixie Divas by Virginia Brown; Don’t Make Me Come Up There by Kristen Welsh

2. What movies, television shows, plays, etc. did I watch this month?

Movies - Welcome to the Rileys; The Dilemma; The Other Woman; Girl Power; Gnomeo and Juliet; Fair Game; Water for Elephants; Bad Teacher

TV Shows – Weeds Season 6; Army Wives Season 4; Dharma & Greg; Criminal Minds Season 1, Disc 1 and 2; True Blood Season 4 Disc 1

3. What fun things did I do with my family and/or friends?

We have been going to church each Sunday.
Saturday June 11th Bill, Bailey and I went to the Summer Splash Bash that was sponsored by the church.

Saturday June 25th Brent, Bill and I had lunch at Lulu B’s – yummy! Then we went to see the movie Bad Teacher. A stop at Goodwill netted me a new chair, a new dresser and three new apothecary jars.

4. What gifts did I give and/or receive?
5. What special or unusual purchases did I make?

I am taking a class through Big Picture Classes called Motherload that starts the end of the month. Went Goodwill shopping with Bailey on their 50% off day – got some clothes and a few other small things. Went Goodwill shopping a week later and got a chair, dresser and three new apothecary jars.

6. What illnesses or health concerns did I have?

Kadie found out she is going to need a shunt put in her brain and that does not sound fun at all.

7. What were my accomplishments this month?

I finished up Power Scrapping – Digi Style and got excited about scrapbooking again. I cleaned up the dining room area so that we can start having dinners together at the table instead of eating off our laps. I am working on my One Little Word album. I am working on moving my digital supplies to a larger external hard drive. I also organized my finished dig layouts on the computer by year.

8. What were my disappointments this month?

The blowup with Kadie and Breanne took way too much of my time and energy.

9. How did I do on my goals for the month? (Or any current short or long term goals)

I got my current pictures and pages printed.

10. Anything else noteworthy to include?

I got to watch baby Bella a couple of times this month. I am so excited about being able to spend the time with her. I was afraid I wouldn’t be as close with her as I am with Bailey and I love my new grandbaby.

I completed 78 scrapbook pages this month – crazy I know, but after taking the Power Scrapping class I have been a whirlwind when it comes to scrapping.

QUOTE – The best kind of life is surrounding yourself with people you love, who love you back. For me, motherhood has done that.

Sunday Scrappin'

I got a lot of layouts done this week. I am working on both older photos and current 2011 photos. First up is Brent's birthday party.
Brent with his iPad.
The next four are my version of Project Life this year. I take a lot of photos but I didn't want to feel I needed to take a photo a day. So, I am using these templates and making a two page spread with the random photos I take each month. Then there will be filler pages between the monthly layouts.

Another birthday page.

Family dinner.
Silly Bailey.
Date Night with Brent.
Bringing stuff home from my Mom and Dad's.
Dad's 70th Birthday.

Photos from 2001.
Sunset photos.
Freezer cooking documentation.
I have also been working on organizing both digital and paper supplies.

My to-do's are to continue scrapbooking, finish putting my embellishments away and continue moving my digital supplies to the new external hard drive.

Have a great week!

Sunday Scrappin' on a Monday

Happy belated Father's Day! I spent Father's Day with my two favorite little girls - Bailey and Bella. And I realized that 48 is way too old to be raising young kids. And it's even worse when you have been kept up by 'can music until 4 a.m. My neighbors can party.

I want to share the layouts I have completed this week. Come over to Sunday Scrappin' and see the other layouts.

I got 15 single page layouts done this week.

My to-do list includes 1.) continue scrapping 2.) continue organizing and moving my digital supplies to my new external hard drive 3.) work on organizing my paper supplies so that I am ready for the Motherload class I am taking at the end of the month.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week and happy scrappin'!

Sunday Scrappin'

It's Sunday and time for Sunday Scrappin'. Share your ta-da's, your to-do's and your challenge layout if you choose to participate.

I told you last week about the class I was taking from Big Picture Classes from Katie the Scrapbook Lady - Power Scrapping Digi Style. If you need a kick in the rear to get motivate - this is it.

I was fortunate enough to finish 11 layouts, yes, you read that right, 11 layouts during the class. I had photos from when I visited Wendy and she and Wayne took me to the Renaissance Fair.

I started another batch of Power Scrapping and have completed three layouts this week with four more started. These layouts are made with photos from two years ago. It brings back such precious memories of Bailey when she was smaller.

This last two page spread is from the Renaissance Fair - Blogger got them mixed up.
I am really happy with how quickly I am getting layouts done using Katie's formula. For my to-do's next week I want to continue using her formula, work some more on One Little Word from Ali Edwards (and post pictures of my completed months) and I have been thinking about working some more on my organization of my paper supplies. The sorted bags of supplies have been sitting in my family room and I really need to put them in my Scrap Rack.

Have a great week. Happy crafting!
